Mitten and the PRTC

Thomas E. Mitten was top executive of the Philadelphia Rapid Transit Company, whose trolleys transported throngs of visitors to and from Willow Grove Park. Mitten's "Mitten Men," as they came to be known, were the men who operated the main trolley lines that carried thousands of Philadelphia area residents to the park.
